James 5:16 (New International Version): Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Proverbs 28:13 (New International Version): Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

Psalm 32:5 (New International Version): Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.

Luke 15:7 (New International Version): I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
